Hi Shell. Thought you might
like to see my big boy Levi. He had his first birthday on Dec. 16th. He
weighed 98 lbs. He is a very smart dog and does all of the basic commands.
I have
given your name out several times because everyone just goes crazy about how
"beautiful" Levi is. He as the best color markings of any of my 5 GDS's and
I love him dearly.
He's always
very sweet and good natured, although he sure tries to dominate other dogs
at the dog park.
Gotta go.
Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas and New Year's.
Mike
First of all, Levi is one of the
sweetest dogs I have ever owned. He is not at all aggressive toward
children or people who are invited to our home, but that is not to say
he doesn't get very aggressive if he thinks he sees someone in
the backyard. My wife had slipped out into our back yard to talk on the
phone and Levi did not see her go out. When he saw her shadow out by
the pool, his back hair went up and he barked very loudly and
aggressively until turned on the light.
I have been a bit concerned about
Levi's ears, but just a couple of day ago while at the dog park they
were both up most of the time, and everyone noticed. His left ear is up
if he hears something, and he seems to have good control of it. My last
GSD, a female did not have her ears up until she was over 5 months. I
called the breeder about two days before they came up and he said they
would come up any time and two days later they were up permanently.
I'll certainly try the zinc right away.
Thanks for the pictures. Batman
sure has the same "intense" look that Levi has. Even the baby pictures
you sent me with head-on views he is always looking so intense and
interested in what's going on. He's a dear.
Thanks again Shell.
Mike

Hi Shell. Well, here is a picture of Levi, and
his ears are finally up. He is 4 1/2 months now, and weighs at just over 51
lbs. He's a terrific dog
