Shell,
My Son Nikos has named our Puppy; 'Shadow'. I got to spend 4 days with her at our house with the 3 of us. She was very shy for the first 3 days. She got to meet the whole family on the 3rd day. She loves the Baja Step in the pool. She walks in and plops her butt down and sits there for a minute or two and then goes back to the patio and sleeps. When we are outside she is outside and visa versa. I have her now in Yuma. I did not want to leave her at home with my Son and Wife. She is better off here with a Soldier who will protect her and train her properly. By the way, it was ironic that my mission with the Military here had nothing to do with the fact that Yuma Proving Grounds has a K9 training facility for Special Service Dogs. (SSD's) I stopped by there today on my way out to the Gunnery range and spoke to the Head Military Dog Handler and he was very impressed with Shadow. He thinks she will be a Big Dog some day. The SSD team is training Dogs here to be Bomb sniffers and other tactical jobs.
She spends all day with me here in Yuma, either in the Holiday Inn (she's sleeping now next to me) or in my rental Tahoe. I leave the A/C running all the time and I have her food and water in there at all times. I take her out when I see she is starting to get bored or restless or if I think she is being too lazy!!
I have all my chicken wings and supplies. I had noticed 6 ticks so far, two were mammoth and I actually though that they were little poop balls at first!! I took her to Petsmart and bought her a puppy bath and Tick Dip. It was her second Bath since I had her. I think Petsmart did a really good (better) job then I did!
I did buy her some Pigs ears to chew on and she loves them.
